CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
27th International Conference on the Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics
Worcester, MA, USA
June 25-29, 2018
The Organizing Committee of the international conference on the Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics is pleased to invite you to the 27th annual conference.
It will be held on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Worcester, MA from June 25-29, 2018. The conference web page can be found at http://dsfd.org.
You can also follow the conference on Twitter for updates and related information: @dsfd2018
The DSFD series of conferences originated with the 1986 Los Alamos conference organised by Gary D. Doolen. Since that time, the DSFD conferences have emerged as the premiere forum for researchers in the field, and many exciting new discoveries in lattice models of fluid dynamics have been first announced at DSFD conferences.
Topics emphasised at these meetings include lattice Boltzmann schemes, dissipative particle dynamics, smoothed-particle hydrodynamics, direct simulation Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics, quantum Monte Carlo methods, multiparticle collision dynamics and hybrid methods. There will be sessions on advances in both theory and computation, on engineering applications of discrete fluid algorithms, and on fundamental issues in mathematical modelling, numerical analysis, statistical mechanics, kinetic theory and hydrodynamics and their applications in microscopic, nanoscale and multiscale physics for emerging technologies. Other topics of interest include theoretical and experimental work on interfacial phenomena, droplets, free-surface flow, and micro- and nano-fluidics. The DSFD conferences are therefore truly interdisciplinary, and include participants from computer science, computational science, physics, engineering, mathematics, chemistry, and many other specialties.
Please consider submitting an oral or poster presentation to DSFD 2018. Registration will be open in about a week. There will also be an opportunity to submit papers for the proceedings. Each proceedings submission will be rigorously peer-reviewed. If you have any questions about the meeting, please do not hesitate to contact us via email.
In addition to the technical presentations, a number of tutorials will be provided for students and researchers new to the field. We will update you as more talks are added in the near future.
Finally, we can assure you a wonderful experience at this conference. June is a wonderful time to be in Worcester, and we will hopefully include a tour to experience the rich history New England has.
Abstract submission deadline: March 30, 2018
Early registration deadline: April 1, 2018
Regular registration deadline: June 1, 2018
We look forward to seeing you in Worcester in June!
