From shosseini at ethz.ch Tue Oct 17 08:45:48 2023 From: shosseini at ethz.ch (Hosseini Seyed Ali) Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2023 13:45:48 +0000 Subject: [DSFD-announce] 33rd International Conference on the Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics Message-ID: CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS 33rd International Conference on the Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics Zurich, Switzerland July 9-12, 2024 Dear Colleagues, The Organizing Committee of the international conference on the Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics is pleased to invite you to the 33rd annual conference. It will be held on the campus of the ETHZ, Zurich, Switzerland from July 9-12, 2024. The conference web page can be found at https://ckg.ethz.ch/DSFD2024.html . The DSFD series of conferences originated with the 1986 Los Alamos conference organised by Gary D. Doolen. Since that time, the DSFD conferences have emerged as the premiere forum for researchers in the field, and many exciting new discoveries in lattice models of fluid dynamics have been first announced at DSFD conferences. Topics emphasised at these meetings include lattice Boltzmann schemes, dissipative particle dynamics, smoothed-particle hydrodynamics, direct simulation Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics, quantum Monte Carlo methods, multiparticle collision dynamics and hybrid methods. There will be sessions on advances in both theory and computation, on engineering applications of discrete fluid algorithms, and on fundamental issues in mathematical modelling, numerical analysis, statistical mechanics, kinetic theory and hydrodynamics and their applications in microscopic, nanoscale and multiscale physics for emerging technologies. Other topics of interest include theoretical and experimental work on interfacial phenomena, droplets, free-surface flow, and micro- and nano-fluidics. The DSFD conferences are therefore truly interdisciplinary, and include participants from computer science, computational science, physics, engineering, mathematics, chemistry, and many other specialties. Please consider submitting an oral or poster presentation to DSFD 2024. Registration opening will follow shortly. There will also be an opportunity to submit papers for the proceedings. Each proceedings submission will be rigorously peer-reviewed. In addition to the technical presentations, a number of tutorials will be provided for students and researchers new to the field. We will update you as more talks are added in the near future.
